The Life Cycle of Our Barrels: Giving Oak a Second (and Third) Life
French oak barrels are a limited resource, but at Brixeur, we maximize their lifespan through a carefully curated cycle. Before aging our whiskey, each barrel has already housed a minimum of four vintages of Trisaetum’s award-winning wines. This imparts incredible depth and complexity to our spirits.
But the story doesn’t end there. Once the whiskey has been aged to perfection, these barrels are returned to our winemaking program, extending their use and reducing our need to source new oak. This innovative process honors the craftsmanship of cooperage while significantly lowering our environmental footprint.
